About Alexis Jones
ALEXIS JONES is an Ohio native who grew up around the Greater Cleveland Area. She dedicated most of her early career to public service, serving four years in the US Navy and developing public policies championing safety and justice for coastal communities.
Her north star is rooted in lessons throughout her life similar to a powerful message delivered by President Barack Obama during his Farewell Address for “all of us, regardless of party, [to throw] ourselves into the task of rebuilding our democratic institutions.”
The first part of President Obama’s message advises action. The second part advises that we operate from the framework that we’re all important and we’re all impactful. Basyl was founded on these principles because every person should have the tools to take charge of their life and understand their health better.
Other issues that Alexis consistently advocates for are being Color Brave (please check out Mellody Hobson’s TedTalk here), minor safety and stewardship in technology, and destigmatizing formerly incarcerated people.
